NABAWAN: Barisan
Nasional (BN) candidate for Nabawan, Datuk
Bobbey Suan, has placed his hopes on the people
here earning a steady household income of at
least RM1,000 per month.
This was the main reason why he initiated the
commercial rubber cultivation project to assist
especially poor villagers in the constituency in
2004, he said, happy that some of the
participants would begin enjoying the fruits of
their labour within two to three years.
"Since 2004, we have already distributed about
300,000 rubber seedlings for the purpose of
implementing this projectÉthis effort will be
continued to enable more villagers to get
involved in this project either individually or
by cluster," he said.
He said this is in line with the government
effort to eradicate hardcore poverty
particularly in the rural area.
Bobbey, who is incumbent Nabawan Assemblyman and
Assistant Agriculture and Food Industry
Minister, felt his hopes are achievable provided
"the people are willing to accept changes in
terms of cultivating and crop growing
techniques."
He said the road system including that linking
to the agriculture areas in the State are
getting much better now, thus enabling fast and
smooth movement of agro produces.
All the progress and much better public
amenities enjoyed by the people today came as a
result of good cooperation and collaboration
among the BN component parties, he said, adding
it also shows the sincerity of the present
government in ensuring no one is left out from
the development mainstream.
