Wences is new Cultural Board chairman

KOTA KINABALU:
Datuk Wences Angang has succeeded Datuk Wilfred
Madius Tangau as chairman of the Sabah Cultural
Board.
If a brief farewell speech, Tangau said culture
was close to his heart and he had always thought
of the board as his second home.
He said that the board is synonymous with
cultural dance, art and crafts as well as
performing arts and that he hoped to cultivate
positive attitudes among Malaysian though these
media of expressions.
"Language is my other concern but I am not able
to continue. I am sure however that Datuk Wences
will carry on positively with his own ideas and
plans to ensure the board's progress and
development, " he said.
Wences, a former Cabinet Minister, in his speech
said he would strive to work towards the
betterment of the board and called for teamwork
from his staff.
Tangau has been appointed chairman of Forest
Plantation Development, a subsidiary company
under the Ministry of Plantation and
