Unaware what Malakun

KOTA KINABALU:
Plantation Industeries and Commodity Minister,
Tan Sri bernard Dompok's Political secretary,
Datuk Philip Lasimbang, sadi his statement
calling for those with narrow knowledge to stop
commenting on the "Allah" issue was not meant
for for the National Justices of the Peace
Council.
Laismbang who
is also the United Pasokmomogun Kanadazndsun
Murut Organisation (UPKO) event organising
chairman said he was only making a general
statement during the launching of the donation
drive for the damaged peninsula church by UPKO
Komulakan on Sunday.
"On that
Sunday, I never read the Council's stand yet
because the newspaper that I subscribe (Daily
Express) is usually sold out by 9.30am at Kamung
Dambai in Penampang. Since I went to Mass that
day, I did not get read the papers," he said.
"So that
statement was never meat for Justices of the
Peace Council but a general one, I would like to
apologise for the misunderstanding," he said.
Lasimbang's
statement was interpreted as criticising the
comment by President of the National Justices of
the Peace Council President, Datuk Clarance
Bongkos Malakun who said the best way to stop
the problem was for Christians to the willingly
stop using the word "Allah"
The Sabah
Justices of the Peace Council (Majaps) also came
out with a strong statement backing the
statement by Malakun who is also the Chairman of
Majaps.
